Those of you who have gone to
have probably encountered a few
hurdles and pitfalls. For example, when you click on an album on the list,
you may very well get a notice that "______ is not a subdirectory of the
current directory". (Wonder why it's in English?) Go back, and you will
get the same notice for things you've already been to and downloaded. But
if instead you go back by clicking the file folder yellow "audio", it will
take longer, you'll be back to apparently the same page, but with a major
difference: this one works. It will connect you with the albums you want.
Pochemu? Kak? Ya ne ponimaya.
Please note the jpegs in with the track lists. In a few cases they are
tiffs. These are photos of the album covers, and will tell you such things
as who the performers are and what is being performed, more particularly
than the track name may indicate.
I redownloaded the Novokuznetsk albums. What they have as 1, 2, 3 were
originally 3, 1, 2. Now, my (original) album 3 sounds pretty good, and no
better from Biblion. But there is an "edgy" sound to my albums 1 & 2, and
what I got from Biblion reduces that and sounds much better. Except that
there is a slight burp at the beginning of Dorozhka 11, Deva dnes', of
originally Album 2, Biblion's Album 3. Which reminds me, one does well to
have only one set of Dorozhkas in one's Downloads file at a time. If you
have two files of the same name, eg "01.Dorozhka_1.mp3", when you go to make
your CD, the only way to tell which one belongs to the album at hand is by
the number of megabytes. And that reminds me to say, be sure to print the
track lists. They help immensely in getting the tracks onto the CD.
I do the downloading with Flashget. When I go to bed, my computer stays
up all night. After you get Flashget, get SpyBot. It will put a stop to
Flashget's crash causing popup ads. My justification is that minor
annoyance may have been in the contract, crashes were not. With them gone,
Flashget moves from a horrible program to a wonderful one.
Those are all the hurdles I can think of for now.
