The consequences of major decisions made in October 2386 began to unfold quickly.

Lt. Commander Marzia Betencourt's decision to head towards a possible signal indicating her husband's presence would take her on a direct course with a situation she did not expect ... and left Admiral Bill Ross to be hunted down and summarily killed by the Allasomorph, sent to stop Ross from sharing his information about The Ten with anyone.

The Poes on Cardassia and Fleet Captain Nathaniel Quinn waited for the Klingon armada as they sought to quickly gather Detapa Council members, having already been warned by Chancellor Martok that any attempts to assist the Cardassians would results in the Klingons considering the Federation interlopers as being on the side of the Cardassian Empire. Being on that side, it was also made clear, would result in death.

And the decision of Captain Carlos Ruiz' four Section 31 handlers, along with Teles, to kidnap President Finneas Del Roy sent Starfleet Command into a panic, with several ships being placed on immediate red alert, but very few people being made aware of the specific reason, as Admiral Henry did not want a full-bore panic to grip the citizens of the Federation. Unbeknownst to Admiral Henry, the news organizations that had received a copy of the letter were already scrambling furiously to corroborate the evidence before they compiled and broadcast the story that could very well bring down the President of the Federation ...

Meanwhile, Mareena Salean, upon learning of the letters, went on the warpath.
