Tesla mural to be unveiled at Turbine Flats
The Turbine Flats Project, a community for small businesses and
entrepreneurs at 2124 Y St., will unveil a 1,500-square-foot mural
Friday, proclaimed "The Day of the Innovator" in Lincoln.
Since April, the Turbine Flats Project, in collaboration with
muralist Amos Sterns, has been painting "The Tesla Mural,"
which Turbine Flats called the world's largest mural of
Nikola Tesla, the Serbian immigrant inventor responsible for
several of the world's technological innovations, including the use
of alternating current electricity.
The mural will be unveiled at 5:30 pm Friday and coincides with
Mayor Chris Beutler's proclaiming "The Day of the Innovator"
in Lincoln, celebrating all local small-business owners, entrepreneurs
and leaders who encourage and promote positive change and
new ways of economic, technological, artistic or scientific thinking.
