      I should have said at the end that *Frege* only put his finger on the problem. Indeed, Frege would argue that arithmetic was analytic a priori, but would still come down to agree that geometry was synthetic a priori. Again, it's hard for me to understand how Frege could think like this; it must be an indication of the formidable power of Kant over all continental thinking in the 19th century. --Ron
