UPN Hopes to Beat Fall Rush
      Tuesday July 22, 2003
LOS ANGELES (Zap2it.com) - UPN will introduce its significantly revamped schedule for 2003-04 before the season officially starts.

The four new comedies and one new drama in UPN's lineup will all premiere between Wednesday, Sept. 10 and Tuesday, Sept. 16, with the intent of getting audiences to check them out before the crush of premiere week later in the month. The fall season officially begins Monday, Sept. 22.

Three of the network's four Monday comedies will return to their same timeslots this season, while "One on One" is moving to Tuesdays to launch a new block of sitcoms. "Eve," featuring hip-hop star Eve, will take its place on Monday. New drama "Jake 2.0" will be paired with "Enterprise" on Wednesday nights, and UPN staple "WWE Smackdown!" will continue rolling on Thursdays.

UPN will use "Smackdown!" to launch the aggressively goofy sitcom "The Mullets," about two brothers with the titular business-in-front, party-in-back haircuts. It will premiere after a 90-minute edition of the wrestling show on Thursday, Sept. 11, and move to its regular Tuesday spot the following week.

Here's the full list of UPN premieres (new shows in bold, all times Eastern):
