Group Description

"Thou shalt not muzzle the ox that treadeth out thy corn
on the floor." (Deuteronomy, chapter 25, verse 4.)

"For our sakes, no doubt, this is written,"
Paul told the Corinthians. "He that ploweth
should plow in hope; and he that thresheth in hope
should be partaker of his hope."

Working on The Little Magazine in 1970, Michael Andre decided to start his own little magazine. The Little Magazine had just changed its name from Quest. Geoff Nulle had tossed the phrase Unmuzzled OX into the Quest hat; he told Andre Unmuzzled OX had been an anti-war coffeehouse at Cornell.
It sounded like freedom.
