      AIMS:

The aim of the annual Victorian Algebra Conferences is to improve
communication among algebraists in Australia (and beyond!) in general and
in Victoria in particular and to stimulate research. We interpret algebra
quite broadly to include, for instance, overlapping areas such as algebraic
topology, effective algebra, graph theory, topological algebra and computer
      algebra.

As part of the 21st birthday celebrations, the VAC will this year be held
concurrently with a Workshop on Universal Algebraic Methods in Semigroup
Theory and Algebraic Logic. This workshop will include three introductory
presentations by distinguished guest Professor George McNulty (University
of South Carolina), as well as a Fireside Chat session. See webpage for
      details.

      SPONSORS:

      Victorian Algebra Conference:
      Australian Mathematical Society
Department of Mathematics, La Trobe University
      Workshop:
      Australian Mathematical Sciences Institute
      Institute for Advanced Studies
Department of Mathematics, La Trobe University

Research students are particularly welcome to attend and participate. We
are keen to continue the Victorian Algebra Conference's strong tradition of
      talks given by graduate students.
