Hi de hi campers,
First off I thought I'd let you know that I have finally got off my
harris and sent out an e-mail requesting details for the next Mission
From God which I hope to have ready in time for MidCon (November 5th).
This might be a bit ambitious given I am going to Essen two week-ends
before MidCon but let's give it a shot.
Anyone who wants to submit a review to me will receive a free copy of
Mission From God and my gratitude. 200 words or so is plenty enough
although you can write longer or shorter reviews if you wish. Send 'em
to me at johnH@...
as soon as you can.
I've yet to send out letters to those editors not on e-mail but that is
a small minority these days.
If you are an editor who subscribes to this mail list but have not
received the Mission From God e-mail from me please send me an e-mail
and ask to be put on the mailing list.
Whilst I am here I thought I'd give you an update on what's been
happening in my role as Point of First Contact for the hobby.
Thus far I have sent stuff out to the following people:
plus some chap called Bruce - might have been Bruce Lewis (I've got the
details at work).
I know Ginette has subscribed to Variable Pig and Howard to virtually
every zine in the hobby, so that's two successes at least. A few of
those listed above have only just received the Starter Pack following
the publication of Alex Bardy's article in Flagship, so it might be a
while before we get any subs trickling through from them.
I've delivered a new batch of Breaking Aways to Leisure Games and have
included the Postal Gaming flyer in each. Previously they have kindly
agreed to send out the flyers to their mail order clients too and having
taken possession of a slew of flyers from the indefatigable John Piggott
at ManorCon I would have given these to Leisure Games too but
unfortunately my address is wrong on the flyers. This would not be too
crucial except the postal code is one of the bits that's wrong. So if
anyone else has these flyers and is intending to distribute them would
they please amend my address to
1 Churchbury Close (not Churchburry or Churchberry)
I did mention this briefly to John at ManorCon but did not take the
trouble to write the details down. I am sorry if John and various other
people have sent stuff out with the wrong contact details - I really
should have chased this up more but preferred to play games and drink
I'll make up a new flyer using the new letterhead featuring the artwork
JP forwarded to me (I am sure it is safely filed away in this room
somewhere - Lin had reorganised the office and guess what? I can't find
I think that's all for now.
