I am running a summer ESL camp this summer and I am trying to find a campground for about 65 people to camp at near Disneyland.  I find a boadload of RV parks, but campgrounds are hard to find for some reason.  Does anyone who lives or know the LA area have any suggestions?

Thanks for any help that you can offer.

21 April 2006 Dear Dan, My daughter, who recently lived in the LA area said she did not know of any campgrounds within a reasonable distance of Disneyland.

        Dear Dan,

My daughter, who recently lived in the LA area said she did not know of any campgrounds within a reasonable distance of Disneyland. But she suggested you call one or more of the public agencies in the area for suggestions: for instance, the City of Anaheim where Disneyland is actually located, other cities nearby, the governor's office in Sacramento, California State Park system, National Park system. Of course you may have already done this so I am being redundant to your own research efforts.

Also try the YMCA or equivalent, look for private benefactors, (wouldn't it be something for your students to camp out in some obscenely rich, Hollywood star's back yard?), or simply ask Disneyland for a donation of the appropriate number of hotel rooms for the visit.

If the students are raising their own funds for the trip it would only be fair to give them the opportunity to spend their hard earned cash for their own benefit and enjoyment. On the other hand, the more you request in assistance, the more you could possible receive.

Sorry, I am not a millionaire. Maybe in the next life,

        Vyrle

Also, AAA of all places has very good state specific campground books you may be able to get from them. In the Anaheim and OC area though I doubt there is too

In the Anaheim and OC area though I doubt there is too
much on offer, as it's a congested cement pond for as
            far as you can imagine.
