      THE NORMAN E. BORLAUG INTERNATIONAL AGRICULTURAL SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY
      FELLOWS PROGRAM

      Up to $25,000 fellowship for graduate dissertation/thesis research. Please
      see http://leap.ucdavis.edu for further information.

      Deadline is March 15.

      In addition to being a citizen of one of the countries listed below,
      eligible candidates will have
      completed at least one year of course work at the graduate level with a GPA
      of 3.0 or higher
      a thesis-topic related to agricultural development and related
      fields.  Title XII legislation broadly defines agriculture as: "…the
      science and practice of activity related to food, feed, and fiber
      production, processing, marketing, distribution, utilization, and trade,
      and also includes family and consumer sciences, nutrition, food science and
      engineering, agricultural economics and other social sciences, forestry,
      wildlife, fisheries, aquaculture, floriculture, veterinary medicine, and
      other environmental and natural resources sciences."
      Citizens of the following countries are eligible:
      Angola
      Benin
      Botswana
      Burkina Faso
      Burundi
      Cameroon
      Central African Rep.
      Dem. Rep. Congo
      Djibouti
      Equatorial Guinea
      Eritrea
      Ethiopia
      Gabon
      Ghana
      Guinea
      Kenya
      Lesotho
      Liberia
      Madagascar
      Malawi
      Mali
      Mauritania
      Mozambique
      Namibia
      Niger
      Nigeria
      Rwanda
      Sao Tome/Principe
      Senegal
      Sierra Leone
      Somalia
      South Africa
      Sudan
      Swaziland
      Tanzania
      Togo
      Uganda
      Zambia
      Zimbabwe
