      >Masters in public health or public administration. Three years work
      >experience relevant to program management. Demonstrated ability to
      >negotiate and bring consensus. Exceptional interpersonal,
      >organizational
      and writing skills a must. Demonstrated ability to balance multiple
      tasks
      and take initiative. Background/knowledge of environmental health,
      epidemiology, asthma, fetal /child growth and development, social
      marketing
      are a plus.

      Program Coordinator:

      Under the direction of the Center Director, assist in coordination
      and integration of Center Activities
      >� review Center activities to ensure that they are proceeding as planned

      >� schedule, organize and facilitate meetings between the research,

      >� manage and ensure timely completion of program work plans
      >� plan necessary training and development workshops for all Center staff

      community partners/keep current on and communicate relevant training and
      conferences for staff and investigators
      >� prepare internal report evaluating progress on a quarterly basis
      >� assist in grant writing/identify areas for funding

      >Serve as liaison with Federal Program Officers
      >� prepare and submit annual progress report to EPA and NIEHS
      >� Serve as QA officer working with co-investigators to develop and
      >submit
      to EPA the QA plan for the Center

      >Work with Center Director and co-investigators to ensure that the

      outreach proceeds as planned to:
      >� develop plan for creating awareness of Center in Northern Manhattan, in
      collaboration with community groups
      >� obtain nominations of individuals perceived by the community to be
      >trusted to participate in planning meetings.
      >� assist WE ACT and Alianza Dominicana, in community meetings about
      >environmental health and Center's findings*
      >� assist with press releases and communication with media
      >� participate in town meetings
      >� Plan and organize a national conference on children's environmental

      >� Organize and/or conduct media interviews

      ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT OF THE COLUMBIA CENTER FOR
      >CHILDREN'S ENVIRONMENTAL HEALTH

      >Description:
      >Assist the Program Coordinator in the daily administration of a federally
      funded research center. This includes tracking/drafting correspondence,
      drafting/typing memos, answering telephone, scheduling and organizing
      meetings,
      making slide presentations, mailing/faxing, conducting literature searches,
      tracking supply inventory and ordering requisitions, preparing and
      circulating
      minutes from meetings.
      >
      >Criteria:
      >Two years experience as an administrative assistant. A
      >Bachelor's/Associate's Degree may substitute for one year of experience.
      >Demonstrated word processing ability. Good interpersonal skills a must.
      >Ability to handle multiple tasks. Knowledge of graphics programs and
      >word
      processing programs a plus.
      >
