OVERSEAS EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITY ANNOUNCEMENT
The Clinton Presidential Foundation HIV/AIDS Initiative is seeking several superbly qualified and dedicated individuals to fill the position of Country Representative in the following countries:
• Bahamas and the Organization of Eastern Caribbean States
• Dominican Republic (Spanish required)
• Haiti (French required)
• Mozambique (Portuguese or Spanish required)
• Rwanda (French required)
• South Africa
The Country Representative will plan, direct, and coordinate activities on behalf of the Clinton Presidential Foundation to help ensure the local country program for comprehensive HIV/AIDS care and treatment meets goals or objectives within prescribed time frame and funding parameters.
The Country Representative will be charged with creating a partnership between various entities and individuals in each country to focus effort, maintain political will, and foster collaboration behind the HIV/AIDS Care and Treatment Program. As a leader and member of this partnership, the Country Representative will focus especially on business related areas such as project management, systems implementation, logistical support, financial administration, communications and training.
Although the Country Representative normally will have little actual control over funds, personnel or decisions – which will be controlled by the country program with oversight from donors – the representative will have considerable ability to help focus and coordinate program participation and move the implementation process forward. A successful Country Representative, then, will have an entrepreneurial spirit, be an inspirational leader and politically savvy facilitator, and bring strong business management skills to bear in an advisory role to overcome challenges faced by the program managers.
At least 5 years successful track record of launching and/or managing new programs or organizations.
Proven general management or project management experience including planning, finance (budgeting, reporting, internal auditing), communicating, managing and leading teams of staff and strategic partners.
Leading or managing a start up situation.
Experience in positions which demonstrate comfort with a diverse range of people and cultures, and demonstrated ability to lead by influence, persuasion, and example.
Specific knowledge and skills:
Exceptional interpersonal and political skills.
Experience in an international environment with developing nations a plus.
Health care delivery knowledge a plus.
Excellent analytical, relationship building, writing and oral communication skills.
Language skills required as noted above.*
*In all countries, Country Representatives will be expected to actively pursue fluency in a local language (e.g. Swahili in Tanzania, Creole in Haiti, and Portuguese in Mozambique).
Education: MBA, MPH or MD preferred, or equivalent experience.
