The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention is currently seeking a Public Health Advisor (PHA) for the Global AIDS Program (GAP) in Harare, Zimbabwe. The incumbent serves as the Assistant Director for Operations (ADO) and functions as the principal management person for all Global AIDS Program (GAP) activities in Harare, Zimbabwe. Responsibilities include program planning and evaluation, formulation and implementation of policy and program, management of resources, property contracts, memorandums of agreement, and procurement activities. Incumbent acts with full authority in the absence of the Director on all matters involving non-scientific program operations and field activities. The incumbent is responsible for providing program and operational support to the GAP initiative with particular emphasis on HIV/AIDS prevention program activities in the country of assignment. Provides advice and assistance on the implementation, direction and evaluation of the management of program activities funded through collaborative agreements and contracts.
This is a two-year assignment that may be extended for an additional two years. Moving expenses are authorized.
