      The Chagrin River Watershed Partners, Inc. (CRWP), a non-profit
      educational and technical organization located in Willoughby, Ohio, is
      seeking applicants for the position of Program Assistant.

      The Program Assistant is a full-time employee who reports to the
      Executive Director and works with member communities on flood control,
      erosion control, and other land use issues, including updating
      comprehensive plans, adopting ordinances, and developing and
      implementing NPDES Phase II Storm Water Management Programs. The Program
      Assistant also manages watershed studies and assists members in
      utilizing the results of these studies.

      About the Chagrin River Watershed Partners, Inc.

      ? A watershed organization formed by the communities in the Chagrin
      River watershed to provide assistance with flood control, erosion
      control, and other natural resource management issues related to land
      use change.

      ? Representing over 80% of watershed cities, villages, townships,
      counties, and park districts in a 265 square mile watershed east of
      Cleveland, Ohio.

      ? Board of Trustees composed of representatives from each member

      ? Programs focus on direct member assistance with flood control,
      erosion control, and water quality protection and include assistance
      with zoning code updates, compliance with NPDES Phase II storm water
      rules, and grant applications. Programs also include policy research on
      watershed issues to support local decision-making.

      ? Successes include increasing local understanding of flood and erosion
      control issues and the use of low impact development; the adoption of
      stream management programs; and assistance to member communities in
      obtaining grant funding and complying with state and federal

      ? Annual budget of $200,000 and growing.

      ? Two (2) full time and one (1) part time staff.

      ? A 501(c)(3) organization.

      Skills & Qualifications of the Program Assistant

      ? Two (2) to three (3) years experience working in storm water
      management, natural resource management, environmental policy, or
      related field.

      ? Experience in program and project management.

      ? Proficiency in ArcView 3.2, Microsoft Office, including PowerPoint,
      and desktop publishing.

      ? Bachelor's degree in biology, ecology, or related field required,
      with graduate degree in environmental planning, natural resource
      management, or related field preferred.

      ? Understanding of the Clean Water Act and other laws and policies
      governing land use and water quality required, with an understanding of
      Ohio state and local government structure preferred.

      ? Excellent presentation, writing, and research skills.

      ? Ability to conduct field work and site assessments, and to attend
      evening and out of town meetings on a regular basis.

      ? Ability to interact with the public and to conduct limited
      educational activities.

      Salary & Benefits

      ? Salary range from $30,000 to $38,000, commensurate with experience.
