Subject: Red Cross White House Blood drive needs your help
President Bush has called on the American Red Cross to organize a blood drive across from the White House in Red Cross Square from tonight until tomorrow at 6pm.
Doctors, nurses and phlebotomists are needed urgently to help draw blood and take histories. (An expedited training session is available on site.)
If you are a physician, physician's assistant, RN, nurse practitioner, LPN or registered phlebotomist and are willing to volunteer to help during this national emergency, please respond ASAP to: Mary Margaret Jacobs at 410.955.5488 or mmjacobs@....
Provide your name and time availability. This will be given to the Red Cross.
Details and logistics provided by the Red Cross are below:
We'll get you trained and on the job as quickly as we can. The blood drive is located at 430 17th Street NW (17th and E Streets). Tonight, we need 5-8 people to help staff the drive to accommodate the remainder of the people who are here to donate today and have waited several hours to give the gift of life. We are estimating that the drive will last until 8:00 or so, but it could be longer. If anyone can be here by 6 or 7 p.m., please, we need you!
