Following the M.O.D.'s decision to release all of their documents relating to UFOs,several cases are receiving a lot of attention. One of these "high interest cases" is the Burmarsh Incident in which a large triangular UFO was observed hovering above the residence of a senior U.K. politician.

The incident provoked government correspondence, local newspaper
reports and an RAF investigation. MoD correspondence concluded:
"Although the MoD has received reports of an alleged `UFO'
sighting near Michael Howard's home on March 8, 1997, MoD Air
Defence staff have confirmed that there is no evidence to suggest
any unauthorised incursion of the UK Air Defence Region on that
      date."

Seems like an "open and shut case" but the incident itself and the subsequent investigation spanned several years and involved phone tapping, threats and hacking.
