      Hulya Alpakin started to play piano when she was 11 at Mimar Sinan
      University Istanbul Conservatory. She earned her bachelor degree from
      State Conservatory after working for eight years as "accompanied piano
      teacher" in Turkey. She has been in the United States since 2000 where she
      came to study piano as a graduate student under Dr. Ludmila Lazar at
      Roosevelt University - Chicago Music College. She also teaches piano at
      People's Music School.
