Chinese New Year Celebration 2004
The Chinese New Year Celebration is an annual fundraising event and concert held at the Louise M. Davies Symphony Hall and includes a Festival Reception one hour prior to the concert. This year, the annual East meets West concert includes the Asia instrumentation of Melody of China and the premiere of Gang Situs Chinese Opera Suite. Donors and sponsors contributing at an elevated level are invited to a post concert Imperial Reception. Proceeds from the Chinese New Year Celebration benefit the many youth and education programs of the San Francisco Symphony.

Enjoy traditional lion dancers, fortunetellers, magicians and learn about the customs of this annual holiday.
Resident Conductor, Edwin Outwater conducts the San Francisco Symphony musicians in an exciting concert featuring traditional Chinese instruments, and both Cantonese and Western Opera.
Sponsors and Patron Donors are invited to the Reception to thank them for their elevated support and offer the opportunity to mingle with guest artists while enjoying sumptuous catered hors doevres and drinks.
