      LAST WEEK:

Kris joined Time and Dave after a long absence.  With 4 players, Rich brought ALIEN FRONTIERS to the table to try.  Players are attempting to colonize an unnamed planet.  In order to do so, they fly their ships to various orbital stations to gather items to help them in their quest.  The key the ships in the game are dice that are rolled at the start of the turn and the orbital stations can only be occupied by certain combinations.  With the ability to interfere with other players (taking their resources, knocking out their ships) there is a fair bit of take that in the game and the game isnt really about building an efficient engine to make more and more colonies, but adapting the best tactics at the moment to maximize ones efforts.  Dave did jump into the early lead, but that seemed to place a large target on his back as everyone started to nullify Daves advantages.  Kris and Rich then drifted into the lead and the race was on to see who would build their 6th colony first.  Rich needed to only roll a single 6 on his 5 dice to build his, but rolled only a 1,1,1,3,3 and had no powers to adjust his die roll.  The best Rich could do was play for the tie with Kris, but to do so would be to forfeit an alien technology card (the first tie breaker.)  Kris then proceeded to play his 6th colony to end the game.

      Kris    8 pts   2 Cards (3 ships)

      Rich    8 pts   1 Car (5 ships)

      Tim     6 pts           (6 ships)

      Dave    5 pts           (5 ships)

      THIS WEEK:

I am unable to host or attend games this Wednesday, so will see everyone next week.  If anyone wants to call out to the list to host, please feel free to do so.
