Re: [T TBS R] Right Side Mirror on TBS2000
- DL, I like the Napoleon bar-end mirrors a lot; I had already experienced
the stock mirors when I roadtested a Speed Triple - loved the bike,
disliked the mirrors, could n't read the speedo ( when you combine a
light-faced instrument with way too many numbers - to 180 mph - my aged
bifocaled eyes can't handle the tiny figures )and lastly my feet slipped
of the metal footpegs ! All little stuff, I know, but when that was
combined with a distinctly higher price, the TBS was an easier choice.
As to installation of the bar-ends - I don't know - I left it to the
dealer, an exclusive Ducati dealer in Richmond, VA, where I found the
bike on consignment.
Yes, you are right, in the event of a fall, they are likely 'goners'. But
I still think they are worth it, and they do fold inwards so you can save
space in the garage.
- I installed my bar ends without any drill or tapping. I was able to
find some very long bolts that worked, and while at first I was
worried the bolts wouldn't be strong enough to handle the bar ends,
but two years later everything is still fine.

- I also have a set of original off of a 98TBS. I replaced mine with mirrors for the low bar option. They are square, and taller, but fit with all of the existing hardware. They work great and actually allow me to see something other than my shoulders. They distort a bit above 70mph, but are rock solid below that. I got them used for $25 from another list member.

Subject: [T TBS R] Right Side Mirror on TBS2000
Today, I took a fall to avoid a dog running after a ball. I got
caught off-guards and bailed off the bike. Fortunately, I was well
protected and did not break anything. The bike is OK except the
right side mirror that got smashed!.
Any suggestions from the group where I could get a replacement. It
seems like everytime I call my dealer, they are out of everything
