EBC Brake Parts for TBS

Here's the EBC parts and numbers that will service a TBS...
Qty of 1: MD 649 R (front right rotor)
Qty of 1: MD 649 L (front left rotor)
Qty of 1: MD 643 (rear rotor)
Qty of 3: FA196HH (brake pad sets)
These are EBC part identification numbers and some distributors will
not understand them at all. This is because most distributors
generate their own part numbers for everything they sell. Makes sense
to their inventory control, but no sense to the manufacturer's
I shopped around quite a bit when sourcing these and found an
excellent parts dealer in Minnesota who has a home run business that
caters primarily to Speedmaster and Bonneville owners, but many parts
are shared between models and the TBS uses the same brake
configuration as a special model of the Speedmaster.

The only caveat that I have regarding the EBC rotors is that the front
rotors have more "lightening slots/holes/pockets" and this is good &
nice that the rotors are lighter... But, on the front rotors, near the
mounting bolt holes, there are lightening slots that expose some of
the wheel flange that is covered with the stock SunStar rotors from
This is purely cosmetic, and encouraged me to clean up these mounting
flanges so the exposed areas would not look dirty, weird, or generally
gross. I was a initially a little disappointed with this, but after
cleaning and polishing, I think it looks just fine. More polished
aluminum with highlights to catch the light and increase the "sparkle"
of the front wheel assembly.
Final cost of complete brake renewal using the EBC parts and pads from
Fast eddy resulted in a savings of over $400.00 CAD (including
shipping to Canada) and to me, this is a better performing and better
