The issue is the bolt that holds the sprag, on some bikes this bolt will come loose or shear. It makes an AWFUL racket that is uncharacteristic among the T-Birds busy engine sounds. If you hear this clatter scrape clatter....stop the bike immediately. When this thing comes apart, it gets messy. Triumph replaced the faulty parts on a lot of the 98 and younger bikes...but people have had issues with younger bikes. Mileage DOES NOT MATTER, as it is a factory defect. Mine went tits up at 5000 miles. I listened to it for another hundred or so, then decided it was time to fix it....GRRRRRR!!!!
