      Job Opening;

      Update to Parish Priest Advert on 1st February 2013:
      The Diocese of Cape Town have been unable to recruit for this vacant post for nearly a year and St Mary's Anglican Church has been without a resident priest since Father Chris Brown left in July 2010. This is believed to be the longest gap without a resident priest since Rev Martin Rogers arrived in 1922 following Rev Graham Barrow's departure in 1909.

      Parish Priest
      for St Mary's Church, Tristan Da Cunha

      St Mary's Church is situated on the Island of Tristan Da Cunha in the Atlantic Ocean, south west of Cape Town. The majority of the 262 islanders are members of the Anglican Church.

      Applicants should be active and energetic and should have experience of Anglican Parish Ministry.
      A keen interest in church music and the ability to play an instrument would be an asset.
      Duties include the teaching of Religious instruction in Primary School.
      Ministry to young people on the island is a priority.
      The island provides a wonderful environment with good schooling for children up to the age of 16.

      For an informal chat about life and ministry on Tristan da Cunha, contact Lorna Lavarello-Smith, Ordinand, Peterborough Diocese, UK on 01536 763691 (evenings and weekends) or email: lavarellosmith@...
