Senior Teacher/Teacher Trainer

Start date: Around March 2013
The job : St Mary's School has just 30 children aged between 3 and 16 and 6 teachers. The average class size is 4/5. The successful applicant will help provide and develop leadership to the school, develop the science curriculum and deliver teacher training across a range of subjects. The school broadly follows the UK curriculum. The successful applicant will have had experience in teaching science up to GCSE. The contract will be for two years from March 2013-March 2015.

St Mary's Church is situated on the Island of Tristan Da Cunha in the Atlantic Ocean, south west of Cape Town.
The majority of the 262 islanders are members of the Anglican Church.
Applicants should be active and energetic and should have experience of Anglican Parish Ministry.
A keen interest in church music and the ability to play an instrument would be an asset.
Duties include the teaching of Religious instruction in Primary School.
Ministry to young people on the island is a priority.
The island provides a wonderful environment with good schooling for children up to the age of 16.
