Re: [TdC] Expatriate community
- View SourceI have spoken to the president of the Tristan da Cunha
Association who suggests that you should come to the AGM on
Saturday the 18th April, 2009 at the Hambledon Suite at the
Southampton Holiday Inn. You could meet, for example, a
volcanologist who went to the Island 50 years ago and then
on to Gough Island (in 1955) and who knows the geology
intimately as well as some islanders who are at present in
the UK. May I suggest that you contact the secretary.
Please contact me for her address.
This seems to me to be good advice.

: Apologies to those whom this email does not apply. I am a
: researcher, studying at the University of East Anglia,
: project is designed around a volcanic hazard assessment
: environmental risk assessment of Tristan da Cunha. I have
: permission to conduct my research on the island, and am
due to travel
: to Tristan in September. In the meantime, I would like to
find out as
: much information as possible about life on Tristan, both
: and presently. This would be extremely valuable to my
research and not
: just me 'snooping'! If there are any expatriates in this
: would be so grateful if you could contact me. I would
just be asking
: for either a brief informal chat or some emailed responses
: questions, whichever suits you best.
: With thanks in advance.
