  • A friend told me about a USB to Serial adaptor cable that is supposed to be the cat's meow. I bought one and put it to use today on my Windows8 machine to configure my T2s. It worked easily on 4 of my T2s. For those of you having a computer without a serial port this may just be the answer for you. It worked for me and I'm not at all good with computers. I have no connection other...

  • I'm running mobile a T2-135 connected to a Nuvi 350. A couple of times over the last couple of months I've had an issue with what seems to me the DR-135 sending 'dirty' packets. I'm not sure how else to describe it but when listening to my own packers on an HT they just don't sound crisp and clean. These 'dirty' packets don't very often get returned and display my call (kc0gpb-7...

  • I did the same except I used the call channel for APRS. One button tuning that way. Pete KC0GPB On Aug 27, 2012 1:04 PM, "Lynn W. • The same for me, too. Pete KC0GPB On Mon, Jun 11, 2012 at 3:36 PM, < W3PMK@^$1 > wrote: My DR-135 does that as well. I turn the volume down to eliminate the noise. I don’t believe it affects the performance of the radio while in data mode. • Yes, it seems when I push on the external cables it comes back to life. Those darned cables are so short I doubt I can reorient things. I'll give out a go on the morning. I was hoping someone would have said "Yeah, just stick a pencil eraser in there to keep some pressure on the connector." Oh, well. • My T2-135 has been working well for a few years now with only an occasional hiccup. Lately, however, it seems to have developed a power issue. Over the last few days when I start my car and get the radio and T2-135 and Nuvi 350 turned on I sometimes get that symbol showing that the Nuvi and T2-135 aren't communicating. A couple of times I've removed the radio's cover revealing the...

  • Man, that was an old message from me. Nearly a year, I'd guess. The issue was solved with some shielded DB9 hoods and a couple of ferrite beads. I did finally dump that glass mounted antenna in favor of a rooftop mag mount. It works much better. The T2-135 with a Nuvi 350 works really well! • My home digi using an OT2m has two profiles - one as a fill-in and one as a wide area digi. I can easily send a command with another radio to switch profiles as Scott says below. If I understand your ultimate goal that may be the easiest way to make it happen. • I see the Garmin 010-10813-00 Mini-B Data Cable used to connect a Nuvi 350 to a T2-135 and OT2m are wired slightly differently with the yellow and white wires flip-flopped between pins 2 and 3. Is that what a Null Modem Adaptor also does? Can I simply insert a null modem adaptor between my cable made to go from the Nuvi to a T2-135 and plug it in to my OT2M? Pete KC0GPB
