  • AFAIK, the 350 is the only one that moves updated stations on the map dynamically. The 1490 doesn't duplicate the stations, but you have to go to the menu and back to the map to see the current locations of stations. The messaging works, but also seems to have an issue if you keep the system running for 8-12 hours non-stop. It will "invent" blank messages that have to be manually...

  • Different Nuvi models require different FMI cables. I have one cable for my 350s and a different cable for a 1490LMT. The latter is attached to a T3-135 which is fundamentally the same as the OT3m except embedded inside an Alinco DR-135 radio. Are you sure you got the right cable for your Nuvi? There's two different Garmin part numbers at least. And a 3rd part number if you want...

  • I probably can't clarify everything, but I can share what I think I know about Nuvi's, GTRANS, and Dispatch mode. 1) Not all Nuvi's are created the same. It takes a different cable to put a 350 into Dispatch mode than it does a 1490. I know this because I have both GPSs and both cables. 2) GTRANS is a cable that does a bi-directional Nuvi to NMEA translation. This is used for non...

It still could be the car. Just because your car is decoded by some things, doesn't mean that it will be decoded by everything, or even most things. I know my wife...

  • The (*3-11:01:00) is displayed by APRSIS32 when a message is received multiple times. The timestamp that should have been to the left of the text (or the previously shown timestamp if they all happened in the same second) is the first time the message was received. The *3 means this one was received 3 times with the most recent reception at 11:01:00. Lynn (D) - KJ4ERJ - Author of...

  • This would be best asked in the APRSISCE Yahoo group, but if BEST is grayed out, APRSISCE/32 doesn't think you have a transmit-capable RF link configured. I did a remote ?IGATE to VY1XY and it shows a Simply(KISS) type port that is Receive-Only. Please read: http://aprsisce.wikidot.com/doc:transmitting Lynn (D) - KJ4ERJ - Author of APRSISCE for Windows Mobile and Win32 On 4/22...

  • Are you sending the CMD VERSION from an APRS-IS connected station or RF? If the former, there needs to be a fully configured (read: message gating) Igate in range of your Tracker. Also, your tracker will need to have "recently" beaconed and be considered "local" to that Igate. For more information on APRS messaging, read: http://aprsisce.wikidot.com/doc:aprs-messaging-explained...
