Resolved issues with my T3-mini
- I had problems with my Tracker3-mini when I wired it into a box. It could not power both a GPS on port A and a PulseOx sensor on port B. I mentioned about this in earlier posts, also exchanged messages with Scott Miller about current draw.
I got it working by using a separate 5V regulator to power the GPS and PulseOx sensor. I also replaced the 680 ohm resistors for external LEDs with 1K resistors to reduce current draw from T3-mini board. With these changes made, it works as expected. However, I've not tested using just a 9V battery. Hazard is to not have 9V battery installed when connecting to 12VDC.
I uploaded to Files section a connection diagram and photos of the box. My intent is to have all connections and power switch on top, not enough room for analog input connector but I don't expect to use it much (in fact, I've not used it yet).
PulseOx sensor is a Nonin 3212 oximeter that outputs pulse and blood saturation O2 levels, Scott worked with Michael NE6RD on this for ParachuteMobile.org. There is firmware that takes this 9600 baud and packages it along with GPS data into a packet stream. It's interesting as I've done APRS while driving in SF bay area traffic (my pulse varies from 70s to 90s depending on traffic). though this day appears I was calmer than usual (some data from 1-23-14 below).
Another I put pinouts of connectors on the box itself so if a cable needs to be made, I don't have to chase down documentation.

Look for my callsign K6MFW and T3mini in filename, and recent date.
- Additional on my T3-mini configured into a box, I tested using 9V battery and it works as well as 12VDC source (obviously the battery will not have capacity but it is small size). Current measurements of 12VDC: When unit first powers up it draws 120 mA then later settles to 95 mA. Before I installed a 7805 regulator it drew 80 mA but T3 never became active.
I also assembled another T3-mini in a smaller box, too small for analog inputs connector. It functions just like the previous box.

new news. I created album in Photos, K6MFW, and put those photos there. I removed them from Files section.
