Re: [tracker2] GA All:
- I would add a dedicated PUC GPS to the PC. Let xastir push your data to the tnc/t2 in kiss mode, and then upgrade your Nuvi to a new widescreen model.I think you might need gpsd to run on Linux to pass the GPS to Xastir but when you do that anything else on the network can use the gpsd server. That's just my $0.0273 de w2lie

I have been using a Tracker 2 OM2 with a Nuvi 350 very happily for several years now and over 20K miles of highway travel. (TM241 to 5/8 wave)
Now I would like to expand the system in the motorhome.
Is it possible to utilize Xastir running on a laptop thru the T2 while it continues to operate with the Nuvi?.
Or would the proper way to do it be to tie the Nuvi to the PC with Xastir and then use the PC to drive the T2 as a TNC? This seems the way to me but wonder what others think.
THe reason for this is, I like the Nuvi for navigation but would like to add bigger plotting and mapping on the PC and more convenient messaging using a real keyboard. The nuvi would be at the drivers position and the PC would emain at the naviguessers' seat.
