Thanks Lynn. I am going to give the WebDT a serious look. If I get it in, I will definitely post back. 73, Hank Lambert KB4MTO/TA5ZC hank@hanklambert.com

You can download what I have going now from http://aprsisce.wikidot.com/downloads  Once you get that one, do an About and you can get a later version as well.   To use it, you'll want to have a WiFi connection to get your maps loaded.  After that, there's Bluetooth capability that was just added to connect to either a Bluetooth GPS (which I'm running now as KJ4ERJ-3) and/or a Bluetooth to serial on a TNC (which I haven't tested yet).

Post your experience to the APRSISCE group when/if you load it on a CE 5.0 WebDT.

PS.  Transparency (specifically the AlphaBlend API) is not supported on the WebDT's CE 5.0 build, so maps won't fade and PHG circles and/or weather zones may not be very useful.

PPS.  I picked up a WebDT 366 in Dallas about 2 weeks ago and have been working on getting APRSISCE/32 (actually APRSISCE5x86.exe) running on it since.  I just got the Bluetooth working yesterday-ish.

Thanks Lynn. I definitely want to keep future capabilities in mind. When you say WebDT 366 is nearly supported, does that mean you are working on it? I really like APRSIS32 and want to run it in the vehicle. The WebDT 366 is a nice unit and very affordable.

      Thanks and 73,

I've read here that the OT2m decodes better than the OT1+, and it also supports Garmin Nuvi's for messaging and what-not as a backup or alternate to your netbook (or WebDT 366 which is nearly supported by APRSISCE).

If I were in your shoes, I'd go with the OT2m in the name of future capabilities.

I am planning my mobile APRS install, and wonder if there is a benefit to using the Tracker 2 over the OT1+ or vice-versa. I will be doing the install in 2 phases. Phase 1 will be installing the radio, antenna, and TNC. Phase 2 will be adding a netbook and running either APRSIS32 or Xastir, depends on what OS I run.

I know that during phase 1 I won’t be able to see any messages or tracking in the car, but I should be seen on aprs.fi.
