Are you talking about displayed on a directly-connected LCD display or
the display of a connected GPS? The trace you captured below looks like
it would be targeting the latter (a GPS display), but the command you
reference in the TT4 applies to the former (directly-connected LCD).

I can only speak for the Tracker2 family connected to a Nuvi 350 because
that's all I've got. I've noticed that whatever comment is included on
the station on the first appearance is the one that sticks on the 350.
Apparently subsequent updates of the station do not change the comment
of the station, but only the position. As such, nothing else like
distance/bearing will be changed, but then, just tell the Nuvi to route
to the station and you've accomplished it.

If it's some other Garmin GPS, I have no clue as to what is possible. I
do know that the TT4 command, however, only affects the local LCD
        display, not a connected GPS.

On the Nuvi 1300, when you go to "Find Location, Favorites, All Favorites" it lists all of the APRS contacts, with the "as the crow flies" mileage and an arrow pointing in the direction of the station.  It's actually pretty cool.  After you hit the favorite, and "go to", it tells you the actual street mileage instead of the line of sight mileage.

It does, but only on the LCD right now. Does the TT4 show it on the console?

In otwincfg.exe there is a "metric / English" setting in the bottom left corner,
but I find that I have to select "metric" every time I run the program. Too bad
it wasn't the default. I think there are only 2-3 countries in the world that
officially don't use metric settings, but Scott is in one of them - hi!

If you are talking about on a Nuvi 350, you can go into SETTINGS, LOCALE
and toggle it from MILES to KM.
