16059Re: [tracker2] Which Tracker to use?
- Nov 23, 2013The OpenTracker USB replaces the OpenTracker+, and incorporates almost all of the features of the Tracker2 (excluding only digipeater and Garmin binary protocol support). The addition of native USB support makes connecting the tracker to a PC for setup or tethered operation easier than ever.So I guess I read this and thought that the OT+ had digi and Garmin support. Rereading it I can see that it may not have, but the OT2 did.Still no digi or Garmin mode support for the OTUSB, so I’m still looking at an OT3 or equivalent, I guess. On Sat, Nov 23, 2013 at 10:08 AM, KA5TRO <ka5tro@...> wrote:I thought OTUSB did not do digi or Garmin mode, but the OT+ did both. Am I wrong?
You've got them backwards...Timeline (partial, anyway): first was the OT, then the OT+, then the OT3, then the OTUSB (which is more or less a T3 stripped down to fit in the old OT style case). The OT+ had limited decode capability due to (lack of) available processing power. The OTUSB sports the T3's upgraded microcontroller.
