Be sure to read the review of H. Paul Jeffers's book on TR, Junior in the current TRA Journal, VOL. XXV, No. 2, pp.  14-15, written by Charles W. Snyder. Mr. Snyder did an essay on TR, Jr., "An American Original," that appeared in Theodore Roosevelt: Many-Sided American, edited by Naylor, Brikley, Gable (1992). Indeed, two essay on Ted in that book, and one on Archie. The book is available from the TRA and at TR public sites. Mr. Snyder in his review recommends that people read Day Before Yesterday by Mrs. Theodore Roosevelt, Junior.
The current issue of the TRA Journal, by the way, also has a review by Captain Greg Wynn of a recent debate printed in the Quarterly Journal of Military History over whether TR should have gotten the Medal of Honor.  Yes, believe it or not, there are still a few out there who say, no, TR should not have been awarded that medal.  You never hear, never have heard and never will, any debate about whether Theodore Roosevelt, Jr. should have gotten that medal, as he did  (also posthumously).
TR's Medal of Honor soon will be returned to the White House to be part of the mansion's permanent collection, along with the Nobel Peace Prize Medal, which we gave to the White House On October 27, 1982.
