I was at a program today showcasing the best children's books of 2004 (I'm
a librarian). One caught my eye: "The President's daughter" by Kimberly
Bradley. The cover illustration featured a drawing of TR and a girl. I
assumed it was about Alice and was surprised to find that it's about Ethel.

The book is a fictionalized account, from Ethel's viewpoint, of the
family's experiences following the McKinley assassination and their
adjustment to living in the White House. I can't speak to it's historical
accuracy but I'm sure (because it's featured in this presentation) that
      it's well-written.

The author did contact the TRA office about the book, looking for info on Ethel. We knew it was coming, but we did not get to see the manuscript in advance.
