Deserted Beaches, Volcanoes, untamed nature, undiscovered adventures.  Surfing Turtle Lodge invites you to Nicaragua!

Our beachfront, eco-friendly lodge is situated along a secluded stretch of a long, empty beach, for as far as the eye can see, on the island of Los Brasiles, close to the historic city of Leon, in Nicaragua’s North Pacific Coast.

This newly re-opened gem, offers our guests the rare opportunity to completely escape the hustle and bustle of the city, and to refresh in a quiet, isolated island setting.  This is what a vacation was meant to be… sun, sand, campfires, and complete relaxation, on your own or accompanied by a handful of likeminded travellers who have ventured outside of the tourist trail to find our hidden paradise.

A big part of our lodge is also our Turtle Hatchery, created as part of our commitment and dedication to help protect our Sea Turtle friends and ensure their population grows, one turtle at a time.  Some lucky guests will get a chance to witness baby sea turtles hatch and assist them as they journey to the ocean for the very first time during our Turtle Season (May to February).

We proudly use Solar Panels as our only source of energy, and also have our very own fresh water well.  We grow our own vegetables and spices, bringing us closer and closer to our goal of becoming completely self-sustainable.

A variety of clean and affordable accommodation options are offered.  From Private Beachfront Cabanas, complete with en-suite washrooms and a front terrace & hammock, to private rooms, shared large dorm rooms and even camping.  All options come with beautiful ocean views.
Feeling adventurous?  Then take part in one of our various on-site activities and tours available, such as surfing lessons & rentals, horseback riding, beach volleyball, basketball, local fishing experience, board games, book exchange, and more.

At our restaurant, our local Chef ensures that the highest quality ingredients are used in every dish.  From freshly caught seafood, to chicken & beef dishes, to vegetarian friendly options, we make sure there is a variety of choices available to suit our guest’s needs.

Finally, head over to our “swing bar & lounge” to enjoy your favorite cocktail or a refreshingly cold, local or imported beer.

Being on a deserted island doesn’t have mean being out of touch (unless you want to:).   Stay connected with your loved ones and the rest of the world by using our high-speed satellite wi-fi service available complimentary to our guests.

Whatever your tastes, whatever your wishes, we will do our best to make your stay as pleasant and memorable as possible.

We look forward to serving you and seeing you soon!

      Sincerely,

      Pedro Mejia
