      Come to workshops in One Step and Peabody Saturday February 27, 10:30am to
      5:30pm, Dovercourt House, first floor, taught by Simon & Bonnie!
      One Step is a fun easy to learn partner dance and the main dance of the
      Ragtime (1910-1915) dance craze - it continued to be popular in the 20s,
      30s, and 40s!
      Peabody is a cool form of One Step hugely popular in the 1920s and Swing Era
      including at places like the Savoy Ballroom! It is suited for tempos from
      balzing fast to medium. It is one of the dances done by Frankie Manning and
      Whitey's Lindy Hoppers in the 1930s, and Frankie is the creator of one of
      the well known variations. Here's a clip of Chad and Midori doing a
      combination of Peabody and Charleston (and winning first place in the
      American Lindy Hop Championships Fast Dance Division in 2004):
