      Hi,
      steps to reproduce error:
      1) Log into database
      2) Open two files in the editor window
      3) Click the tab for the file currently not in focus

The mouse pointer changes after I click OK on the error message (see image):

            Hi,
            steps to reproduce error:
            1) Log into database
            2) Open two files in the editor window
            3) Click the tab for the file currently not in focus

The mouse pointer changes after I click OK on the error message (see image):

I have tried for a second time to uninstall my toad installation, delete all old folders, restart the computer, download the installer and do a complete install of 11 Freeware from scratch. This error is still present.

I guess something got really messed up the first time I just copied the upgrade file into the 10.6 folder, and cannot be fixed now.

There is a chance that when you ran the uninstaller, it did not clean up your app data files.  Try this:

                1. close Toad

                2. locate your Toad app data folder, on Windows 7 it's: C:\Users\[user]\AppData\Roaming\Quest Software\Toad for Oracle\

                3. Once you locate this folder, delete or rename all of the sub folders within this directory.  They should be named after Toad versions.

                4. Open Toad

please let me know if this fixes your issue

I have tried for a second time to uninstall my toad installation, delete all old folders, restart the computer, download the installer and do a complete install of 11 Freeware from scratch. This error is still present.

I guess something got really messed up the first time I just copied the upgrade file into the 10.6 folder, and cannot be fixed now.

                > I have copied the toad.exe new file on the old Toad folder, but anything change. This is most likely the problem. You have to run the new Toad 11 freeware installer, you can't just copy over the exe.

Toad for Oracle version: Freeware 11.0.0.116

With more than one file open in the Editor window, when I try to change the current active tab, the error "List index out of bounds (-1)" appears. The only way to focus an already open tab is to close all the other ones until it appears on screen.

I guess something got really messed up the first time I just copied the upgrade file into the 10.6 folder, and cannot be fixed now.

Toad for Oracle version: Freeware 11.0.0.116

With more than one file open in the Editor window, when I try to change the current active tab, the error "List index out of bounds (-1)" appears. The only way to focus an already open tab is to close all the other ones until it appears on screen.

A full support bundle would also help. Go to help > support bundle and you can send it directly to me. bradley.boddicker@...Thanks

There is a chance that when you ran the uninstaller, it did not clean up your app data files. Try this:1. close Toad2. locate your Toad app data folder, on Windows 7 it's: C:\Users\[user]\AppData\Roaming\Quest Software\Toad for Oracle\3. Once you locate this folder, delete or rename all of the sub folders within this directory. They should be named after Toad versions.4. Open Toadplease let me know if this fixes your issue

I have tried for a second time to uninstall my toad installation, delete all old folders, restart the computer, download the installer and do a complete install of 11 Freeware from scratch. This error is still present.

*Edit: I renamed the the folder "C:\Users\<Username>\AppData\Roaming\Quest Software\Toad for Oracle\11.0 freeware", it got recreated when i restarted Toad and now it works fine. Perfect!

                    Hi,
                    steps to reproduce error:
                    1) Log into database
                    2) Open two files in the editor window
                    3) Click the tab for the file currently not in focus

The mouse pointer changes after I click OK on the error message (see image):

Please zip your user files directory and send them to me offline and I'll take a look. Also, did you copy user files from a previous installation at the startup wizard prompt or did you start as a fresh installation? You can locate your user files folder in Toad's options. See the General tab and the "Application data directory" groupbox.

There is a chance that when you ran the uninstaller, it did not clean up your app data files. Try this: 1. close Toad 2. locate your Toad app data folder, on Windows 7 it's: C:\Users\[user]\AppData\Roaming\Quest Software\Toad for Oracle\ 3. Once you locate this folder, delete or rename all of the sub folders within this directory. They should be named after Toad versions. 4. Open Toad please let me know if this fixes your issue

                      Hi,
                      steps to reproduce error:
                      1) Log into database
                      2) Open two files in the editor window
                      3) Click the tab for the file currently not in focus

The mouse pointer changes after I click OK on the error message (see image):

Toad for Oracle version: Freeware 11.0.0.116

With more than one file open in the Editor window, when I try to change the current active tab, the error "List index out of bounds (-1)" appears. The only way to focus an already open tab is to close all the other ones until it appears on screen.

Please zip your user files directory and send them to me offline and I'll take a look. Also, did you copy user files from a previous installation at the startup wizard prompt or did you start as a fresh installation? You can locate your user files folder in Toad's options. See the General tab and the "Application data directory" groupbox.Michael

                        Hello,

I am getting exact the same error since I updated to Toad Version 11.0.0.116.

I am using a licenced Toad for Oracle Base with DB Admin Module.

The rest of Toad seems to work fine.

                        Is any help available?

                        Thank you !

                        Hi,
                        steps to reproduce error:
                        1) Log into database
                        2) Open two files in the editor window
                        3) Click the tab for the file currently not in focus

The mouse pointer changes after I click OK on the error message (see image):

Also if you can send Call Stack section from the EurekaLog report it may help to narrow down where the error is coming from

See the General tab and the "Application data directory" groupbox. Michael

                          Hello,

I am getting exact the same error since I updated to Toad Version 11.0.0.116.

I am using a licenced Toad for Oracle Base with DB Admin Module.

The rest of Toad seems to work fine.

                          Is any help available?

                          Thank you !

                          Thorsten

There is a chance that when you ran the uninstaller, it did not clean up your app data files. Try this: 1. close Toad 2. locate your Toad app data folder, on Windows 7 it's: C:\Users\[user]\AppData\Roaming\Quest Software\Toad for Oracle\ 3. Once you locate this folder, delete or rename all of the sub folders within this directory. They should be named after Toad versions. 4. Open Toad please let me know if this fixes your issue

Perfect!

                          > I have copied the toad.exe new file on the old Toad folder, but anything change. This is most likely the problem. You have to run the new Toad 11 freeware installer, you can't just copy over the exe.

I can't reproduce this error. Can you provide steps?

                            Thank you !

                            Thorsten

Perfect!

change. This is most likely the problem. You have to run the new Toad 11 freeware installer, you can't just copy over the exe.

I did not migrate any user files.

                            Hi,
                            steps to reproduce error:
                            1) Log into database
                            2) Open two files in the editor window
                            3) Click the tab for the file currently not in focus

The mouse pointer changes after I click OK on the error message (see image):

Toad for Oracle version: Freeware 11.0.0.116

With more than one file open in the Editor window, when I try to change the current active tab, the error "List index out of bounds (-1)" appears. The only way to focus an already open tab is to close all the other ones until it appears on screen.

I had worked with another individual offline and the cause of their problem was installing Toad over an existing installation. Did you do this? If so I'd recommend uninstalling it and reinstalling it into a fresh directory. The root cause is the rule sets used by Code Analysis (CA) were the old sets and not the new ones compatible with the new CA. You can confirm by closing Toad, navigating to your appdata directory and renaming the RuleSets folder. Now start Toad and see if the problem is still there. Even if this resolves the issue I'd still question the state and stability of your installation and would perform the reinstall. At the initial prompt to migrate user files I would choose to not do so from your botched installation and start it off as a fresh installation. You can locate your appdata folder by looking in View|Options|General|"Application data directory"

With version 11 I have the same issue, I have a common app data folder with the previous versions.

Please zip your user files directory and send them to me offline and I'll take a look. Also, did you copy user files from a previous installation at the startup wizard prompt or did you start as a fresh installation? You can locate your user files folder in Toad's options. See the General tab and the "Application data directory" groupbox. Michael

                              Hello,

I am getting exact the same error since I updated to Toad Version 11.0.0.116.

I am using a licenced Toad for Oracle Base with DB Admin Module.

The rest of Toad seems to work fine.

                              Is any help available?

                              Thank you !

Perfect!

                              > I have copied the toad.exe new file on the old Toad folder, but anything change. This is most likely the problem. You have to run the new Toad 11 freeware installer, you can't just copy over the exe.

I have the same problem, but also I have the same error message, when i try to edit a package...

I have copied the toad.exe new file on the old Toad folder, but anything change.

I have tried to rename toad.ini, so when I log in on Toad, it will be re-created, but anything change, I have the same errore message...

                              steps to reproduce error:
                              1) Log into database
                              2) Open two files in the editor window
                              3) Click the tab for the file currently not in focus

Also if you can send Call Stack section from the EurekaLog report it may help to narrow down where the error is coming from

I can't reproduce this error. Can you provide steps?

Toad for Oracle version: Freeware 11.0.0.116

With more than one file open in the Editor window, when I try to change the current active tab, the error "List index out of bounds (-1)" appears. The only way to focus an already open tab is to close all the other ones until it appears on screen.

Please zip your user files directory and send them to me offline and I'll take a look. Also, did you copy user files from a previous installation at the startup wizard prompt or did you start as a fresh installation? You can locate your user files folder in Toad's options.

                                Thank you !

                                Have you any news???

                                steps to reproduce error:
                                1) Log into database
                                2) Open two files in the editor window
                                3) Click the tab for the file currently not in focus

The mouse pointer changes after I click OK on the error message (see image):

Also if you can send Call Stack section from the EurekaLog report it may help to narrow down where the error is coming from

Toad for Oracle version: Freeware 11.0.0.116

With more than one file open in the Editor window, when I try to change the current active tab, the error "List index out of bounds (-1)" appears. The only way to focus an already open tab is to close all the other ones until it appears on screen.

That's a bad idea. You can't have two major versions of the same product sharing the same app data folder. As features are introduced, redesigned, improved, etc. the format of files in the appdata folder may change even if the filenames are the same. This is very problematic. When you decide to fully go onto the new version you should do this. Close Toad, delete entirely the appdata folder for the new version, start the new version, and choose to migrate the user files from a previous installation, but your appdata files are currently compromised so I'd not perform these steps and migrate from them. If it were me I'd start fresh.

                                  Thanks for the explanation.
Usually I install the new toad versions separately and not upgrading them to see if I'm happy with the new version first, therefore I created the common app data folder to avoid the time consuming setups for the newly installed instance.

Now the common app data works with the new version.

                                  Thanks,

To be honest, I glossed over this statement " I have a common app data folder with the previous versions." Sounds like you are in the same boat as the other user referenced in my earlier email. Those comments apply.

You can locate your appdata folder by looking in View|Options|General|"Application data directory" Michael

                                  Hi,

With version 11 I have the same issue, I have a common app data folder with the previous versions.
Is there any solution for this?

                                  Thx,

Please zip your user files directory and send them to me offline and I'll take a look. Also, did you copy user files from a previous installation at the startup wizard prompt or did you start as a fresh installation? You can locate your user files folder in Toad's options. See the General tab and the "Application data directory" groupbox. Michael

                                  Hello,

I am getting exact the same error since I updated to Toad Version 11.0.0.116.

I am using a licenced Toad for Oracle Base with DB Admin Module.

The rest of Toad seems to work fine.

                                  Is any help available?

                                  Thank you !

Perfect!

                                  > I have copied the toad.exe new file on the old Toad folder, but anything change. This is most likely the problem. You have to run the new Toad 11 freeware installer, you can't just copy over the exe.

                                  Hi,
                                  steps to reproduce error:
                                  1) Log into database
                                  2) Open two files in the editor window
                                  3) Click the tab for the file currently not in focus

The mouse pointer changes after I click OK on the error message (see image):

Also if you can send Call Stack section from the EurekaLog report it may help to narrow down where the error is coming from

Toad for Oracle version: Freeware 11.0.0.116

With more than one file open in the Editor window, when I try to change the current active tab, the error "List index out of bounds (-1)" appears. The only way to focus an already open tab is to close all the other ones until it appears on screen.

You can locate your appdata folder by looking in View|Options|General|"Application data directory"Michael

                                    Hi,

With version 11 I have the same issue, I have a common app data folder with the previous versions.
Is there any solution for this?

Please zip your user files directory and send them to me offline and I'll take a look. Also, did you copy user files from a previous installation at the startup wizard prompt or did you start as a fresh installation? You can locate your user files folder in Toad's options. See the General tab and the "Application data directory" groupbox.Michael

I am getting exact the same error since I updated to Toad Version 11.0.0.116.

I am using a licenced Toad for Oracle Base with DB Admin Module.

The rest of Toad seems to work fine.

                                    Is any help available?

                                    Thank you !

Perfect!

                                    > I have copied the toad.exe new file on the old Toad folder, but anything
change. This is most likely the problem. You have to run the new Toad 11 freeware installer, you can't just copy over the exe.

                                    Hi everybody

I have the same problem, but also I have the same error message, when i try to edit a package...

I have copied the toad.exe new file on the old Toad folder, but anything change.

I have tried to rename toad.ini, so when I log in on Toad, it will be re-created, but anything change, I have the same errore message...

                                    Have you any news???

                                    Thanks in advance
                                    Pino

I tried to uninstall all my Toad installations, restart the computer and then do a fresh install. Still got the same error message.

I did not migrate any user files.

                                    Hi,
                                    steps to reproduce error:
                                    1) Log into database
                                    2) Open two files in the editor window
                                    3) Click the tab for the file currently not in focus

The mouse pointer changes after I click OK on the error message (see image):

If it were me I'd start fresh.Michael

                                      Thanks for the explanation.
Usually I install the new toad versions separately and not upgrading them to see if I'm happy with the new version first, therefore I created the common app data folder to avoid the time consuming setups for the newly installed instance.

Now the common app data works with the new version.

                                      Thanks,
                                      Attila

To be honest, I glossed over this statement " I have a common app data folder with the previous versions." Sounds like you are in the same boat as the other user referenced in my earlier email. Those comments apply.

You can locate your appdata folder by looking in View|Options|General|"Application data directory"Michael

                                      Hi,

With version 11 I have the same issue, I have a common app data folder with the previous versions.
Is there any solution for this?

                                      Thx,
                                      Attila

Please zip your user files directory and send them to me offline and I'll take a look. Also, did you copy user files from a previous installation at the startup wizard prompt or did you start as a fresh installation? You can locate your user files folder in Toad's options. See the General tab and the "Application data directory" groupbox.Michael

                                      Hello,

I am getting exact the same error since I updated to Toad Version 11.0.0.116.

I am using a licenced Toad for Oracle Base with DB Admin Module.

The rest of Toad seems to work fine.

                                      Is any help available?

                                      Thank you !

                                      Thorsten

Perfect!

change. This is most likely the problem. You have to run the new Toad 11 freeware installer, you can't just copy over the exe.

I have copied the toad.exe new file on the old Toad folder, but anything change.

I have tried to rename toad.ini, so when I log in on Toad, it will be re-created, but anything change, I have the same errore message...

                                      Hi,
                                      steps to reproduce error:
                                      1) Log into database
                                      2) Open two files in the editor window
                                      3) Click the tab for the file currently not in focus

The mouse pointer changes after I click OK on the error message (see image):

Also if you can send Call Stack section from the EurekaLog report it may help to narrow down where the error is coming from

Toad for Oracle version: Freeware 11.0.0.116

With more than one file open in the Editor window, when I try to change the current active tab, the error "List index out of bounds (-1)" appears. The only way to focus an already open tab is to close all the other ones until it appears on screen.
