      Hi Marcello

      I did the modifications you suggested but I still get my text as an attachment, here is the header info now... (the "name" and "filename" have indeed gone after altering TMail2000)

      ====================================================================
      X-Server: GBA Mail Server
      Date: Fri, 31 Aug 2001 13:29:27 +0100
      Subject: This is the message subject
      From: "GBA Computer Solutions" <john@...>
      To: "John GBA" <john@...>
      Content-Type: multipart/mixed; boundary="boundary7D239838_mixed"
      Mime-Version: 1.0
      X-Mailer: Mail2000 1.9 beta http://groups.yahoo.com/group/tmail2000
      Content-Length: 577

      This is a multipart message in mime format.

      --boundary7D239838_mixed
      Content-Type: multipart/related; boundary="boundary55F75D1D_related"

      --boundary55F75D1D_related
      Content-Type: multipart/alternative; boundary="boundary12C84996_alternative"

      --boundary12C84996_alternative
      Content-Transfer-Encoding: quoted-printable
      Content-Type: text/plain; charset="iso-8859-1"
      Content-Disposition: inline
      Content-Length: 46

      This is a test...this should be the email body
      --boundary12C84996_alternative--

      --boundary55F75D1D_related--

      --boundary7D239838_mixed--
      ====================================================================

      And here is the my code...

                   // Set up From & To details
                   Msg.SetLabelValue('X-Server', 'GBA Mail Server');
                   Msg.Date:=Now;
                   Msg.Subject:='This is the message subject';
                   Msg.ToList.Clear;
                   Msg.CCList.Clear;
                   Msg.SetFrom('GBA Computer Solutions','john@...');
                   Msg.ToList.Add('John GBA','john@...');
                   Msg.SetTextPlain('This is a test...this should be the email body');
                   Msg.RebuildBody;
                   Msg.SaveToFile('c:\MsgBody.txt');

      Hi again Mr John,

      You will have to make some corrections in my code...
      The procedure PutText must look exactly like this:

      ========================================================================

      procedure TMailMessage2000.PutText(Text: String; var Part: TMailPart;
      Content: String);
      begin

        Normalize;

        Text := AdjustLineBreaks(Text);

        if Part = nil then
        begin

          Part := TMailPart.Create(Self);
          Part.FOwnerPart := FAlternativePart;
          Part.FOwnerMessage := Self.FOwnerMessage;
          Part.FParentBoundary := FAlternativePart.GetBoundary;
          FAlternativePart.FSubPartList.Add(Part);
        end;

        Part.Decoded.Clear;
        Part.Decoded.Write(Text[1], Length(Text));
        Part.Encode(FTextEncoding);

        Part.SetLabelValue(_C_T, Content);
        Part.SetLabelParamValue(_C_T, 'charset', '"'+FCharset+'"');
        Part.SetLabelValue(_C_D, _INLN);
        Part.SetLabelValue(_C_L, IntToStr(Part.FBody.Size));

        FNeedRebuild := True;
      end;

      ========================================================================

      Just don't forget to fix the declaration of this procedure on
      TMailMessage2000 class definition.

      And your code must be:

      ========================================================================

         Msg.SetLabelValue('X-Server', 'GBA Mail Server');
         Msg.Date:=Now;
         Msg.Subject:='This is the message subject';
         Msg.ToList.Clear;
         Msg.CCList.Clear;
         Msg.SetFrom('GBA Computer Solutions','john@...');
         Msg.ToList.Add('John GBA','john@...');
         Msg.SetTextPlain('This is a test...this should be the email body');
         Msg.RebuildBody;
         Msg.SaveToFile('c:\MsgBody.txt');

      ========================================================================

      This fixes will be incorporated on next version.

      Regards,

      Hi Mr John, I did some tests with Outlook, it seems that you will always have to be both texts (plain and HTML). Try setting the same text with SetTextHTML.

        Hi Mr John,

        I did some tests with Outlook, it seems that you will always have to be
        both texts (plain and HTML).
        Try setting the same text with SetTextHTML.
        Your code will be like this:

        Msg.SetLabelValue('X-Server', 'GBA Mail Server');
        Msg.Date:=Now;
        Msg.Subject:='This is the message subject';
        Msg.ToList.Clear;
        Msg.CCList.Clear;
        Msg.SetFrom('GBA Computer Solutions','john@...');
        Msg.ToList.Add('John GBA','john@...');
        Msg.SetTextPlain('This is a test...this should be the email body');
        Msg.SetTextHTML('This is a test...this should be the email body');
        Msg.RebuildBody;
        Msg.SaveToFile('c:\MsgBody.txt');

        This worked fine with Outlook Express 5.5
