if I could pair the Sony tv remote to the TiVo box then I would only
      need one remote for both.

Could anyone tell me what would be the easiest way to go about this?

      Thank you..

Can you find the instructions that came with the TiVo remote control
        unit that you are using?

If I recall, you can use those instructions to look up the type of
television set you are using and it gives you codes (and instructions on
how) to enter into the TiVo remote to control your television set
volume, mute, et cetera. You may have to try more than one code to get
        it to work.

The techs telling you to try to figure out which buttons on the TV
remote would control the TiVo box are giving you incorrect information.

        Good luck.

There is a procedure to try every possible number code, I had to do this with one TV. It takes a while (unless you get lucky with a low number). On Thu, Mar
