Celebrities Use Star Power To Fight The Violence

      Anne-Marie Green
      Reporting

(CBS 3) PHILADELPHIA They may have arrived in a limo but they came
to work. Celebrities like Queen Latifah, Mo'Nique and Tisha Campbell
rolled up their sleeves to clean up more than just one playground in
      Southwest Philadelphia.

"We're losing our communities. We're losing our babies and there's
nothing more important then getting those back," actress Mo'Nique
      said.

"We've lost too many children and it's time to say enough is
      enough," actress Tichina Arnold said.

This is the fourth year for Charlie's Mack's Party for Peace and
this time around he wants to raise awareness not money teaching
people what to do to make their neighborhoods safer places to live.
They are neighborhoods the celebrities may have left but have not
      forgotten.

"This is one of the most positive events that I know of anyone in
our business organizing. I don't know anyone who's doing anything
      like this," Queen Latifah said.

"For the celebrities it's not only important for us to say stop the
violence, keep the peace, don't do drugs, do the right thing. It's
important to share your stories," actress Tisha Campbell said.

The CW Crew along with Natasha Brown from Wake Up News were on hand
as well as community groups like Mothers In Charge.

"What would be true success is for all the homicides to totally
decease. That's the only thing I want to actually die, the murder
      rate," Charlie Mack said.

The Party For Peace takes place all weekend long with a number of
      other events throughout Philadelphia.
