communication with collection agency
A collection agency has said that my case has now been 'moved
forward to garnishment'--or something like that. As my job is
seasonal, and the season has finished (not fired, not laid-off), there
are no paychecks to be garnished.... until Thanksgiving (and I intend
by then to be working without using the SSN).
I will be going to Canada in a couple days, until the beginning of
November. My question is--do I want my mail forwarded to me there by
the PO, in which case the mail would take a LONG time to get to me, as
it's 'international'. Or, is it better to be in 'better communication'
with the agency, by having my sister forward my mail with the correct
amount of postage.... Is it advantageous for me to 'know' what the
collection agency is doing 'in a timely manner'---or is it more
advantageous for me to be 'hard to get'?
Thanks for any helpful info on this!
