      Hello all -

The Rippers remain open for business after three summer blockbusters that
have reshaped the team and left the front office considerable flexibility.
GM Capstick now enters the September entry draft with no fewer than four 1st
round picks, (#2 from the Rage, #6 from the Q-Crew, #7 Rippers, and #9 from
      the Leafs).

Nomorediques .... are you ready to listen?

*Tim* - when are protected lists due?

        Jamie et al,

Four 1st round picks could reshape the future of your franchise if you choose wisely (I think you will).

I was in a similar position a few years ago when I drafted Carle, Radulov, Kessel and Wolski in the top 13 or 14 picks. I believe that my draft was deeper in talent. Carle had an incredible rookie year for me, but has played poorly since. Taking Dan Boyle's place on the Tampa power play will put him back near the top of D scoring. Rads will hopefully return to the Preds as he's poised to explode with a HUGE year on the top line. Kessel was dealt in a package for Zetterberg. Wolski was swapped for Frolov. That draft gave me a boost.

The bigger key is picking the right player. Both Malkin and Kane were picked towards the end of the 1st round in their respective years.

I'll be "wasted away again in Margaritaville" by my 1st pick in the 4th round. Still love the additions of Zubov and Liles. Needed to upgrade and did so.

Commish-we need to start looking towards the draft. Do we want to return to the YRPA Association building? It seems that everyone has been pleased with this location. Either Steve, Jim or I can made a "reservation".

What about potential dates? Let's get a consensus. Here are my dates:
        Sat Sept 27th-my 1st choice
        Sat Sept 13th-my 2nd choice
        Sat Sept 6th-my 3rd choice
***I'm not available on Sat Sept 20th due to work***

        Drop the Puck!!!

            Commish et al,

I'm working dayshift on Sat Sept 20th and Sun Sept 21st.
Would have to try to book time off. Not likely to be approved
            due to manpower.
I think that "Sunday" in general shouldn't be a problem. I believe
            that staff are working then.
Maybe Jim or Steve could confirm my beliefs.
            Thanks!

Guys is it possible to get the building on a Sunday? I was looking
at the 21st of Sept as a potential draft date. In speakeing with a
few of the teams the Sunday worked better.

Please let me know asap and we can set the date.

Radulov, Kessel and Wolski in the top 13 or 14 picks. I believe that
my draft was deeper in talent. Carle had an incredible rookie year
for me, but has played poorly since. Taking Dan Boyle's place on the
Tampa power play will put him back near the top of D scoring. Rads
will hopefully return to the Preds as he's poised to explode with a
HUGE year on the top line. Kessel was dealt in a package for
Zetterberg. Wolski was swapped for Frolov. That draft gave me a
              boost.

              to upgrade and did so.

              a "reservation".
