Coma, Small Axe, Complicated SHirt play tomorrow at v.tines!!
- Dear Harsh House:
Coma, a band from the December fringes of Garden Alley, will release
its newest pony release on Saturday, January 3rd: MEGA PONY. Mega
Pony is a harder hitting, Nick Cave-ier release than its sister
full-length, MINI PONY, but the two ponies are equally matched knights
on a sonic chessboard unable to overcome the other.
This show will be the last show that Thomas Wilk or Mike Keegan will
be playing in Albany as residents of this fair city. Wilk will move
to NYC on Jan 1 and Keegan will move to San Francisco on Jan 15.
Bryan Hamill will remain in Albany and the three Comas will continue
to operate as a long-distance, bicoastal band, not unlike Pavement or
Coma will play with the following titans of Albany rock:
Complicated Shirt (also doing the long-distance New York-to-Albany
Small Axe (A coal fire in your January heart)
and from Rockland County:
Show is at Valentine's, downstairs, and will start around 8 PM. Cover
is 5 bones and Mega Pony CDs will be on sale for 5$. Some ponies are
included with a magical silver record bag. A girl named Rhiannon at
Joanne Fabrics sold to us the fabric for these for a pittance.
