June 26-27 from 10am to Dusk and afterwards for the campers is the 11th annual Mohawk summer festival at Kanatsiohareke(Gana-jo-hel-agay).  Members of the Schenectady Pagan cluster of the astral light temple will be going on sunday the 27th before ritual at the shop at 7pm. For more info call 518-673-5356 or visit the website at www.mohawkcommunity.com   .
These are the more spiritual folks from the Akwesasne reservation who left after the barricades came down so many years ago.  They actively teach the Mohawk language, run a museum and a bed and breakfast in the heart of their old homeland. there is a five dollar charge for adults and 3 for kids.

The Kateri Pow-wow is the next weekend, the 3rd-5th, at the Kateri shrine.  for more info, call 518-853-3646 or check their website at www.katerishrine.com  .

This Friday-sunday is the Old songs festival.  Bob foltin and I will be hosting the open stage on saturday.  Rules on this particular one are that you have to sign up during the day on saturday and then a certain number of folks are chosen at random by us or other staff. Folks generally get 10 minute slots. Any type of entertainment is allowed. And we do get everything from comedy to accapella, to bands and singer songwriters, to poets and dramtic arts. Even a clown and an origami artist who explained his work while producing objects for the audience.  Great fun!! See you all there.

      Tim.
