      Hello all,
Three events coincide today. National Poetry Month, April Fool's Day, and baseball's opening day. I can't think of a better way to celebrate all three than with a poem. Enjoy!
      Carol

      The first of April

      This morning, snow
      frosting on the grass
      and barbeque grill

      This first of April
      a hundred red-breasted robins
      flirt in the glittering field

      A fool's paradise
      drenched in silver
      waiting for that moment

      Of glove and rosin
      hickory and leather
      hot dogs and green grass
      and the crackle and roar
      anticipating glory
      on opening day.
