Tonight's the night for the worldwide premiere of Planet Of The Dead. The first Doctor Who episode made in HD. First of the 4 final David Tennant specials. New episode, new confidential, new commentary. It's a rather busy night for new sci-fi drama in the UK - Doctor Who, Robin Hood, Primeval (which repeats on ITV2 several times in the weekend, so no one has to pick between the shows even though they are airing against each other), and Red Dwarf.

Note to fans in the UK and certain European territories close enough to pull in some of all of the TV stations - if it is possible, try not to spoil every single detail of these shows to fans around the rest of the world who have not seen them quite yet. Ex: if Michelle Ryan's character in Planet Of The Dead turns out to be Wendy Padbury in disguise, try not to shout that out on Twitter. Oh, I just shouted that out? Drat.

SOME INTERNATIONAL BROADCASTERS MAY HAVE NOTICED that some Doctor Who fans (and fans of other shows) have found ways to watch the newest episodes before those broadcasters air them. Those broadcasters may fear that some of their potential viewers have already seen Doctor Who and are just that tiny bit less interested in watching Who on their own network. I have some advice on how to get people in your country to watch Doctor Who on your station. Read it - in next week's column.

New Zealand fans get The Next Doctor on the 13th at 8:30PM on Prime. Earlier that day Prime is airing 2 early David Tennant episodes, which could be the start of a repeat run.

Yahoo Groups has had technical problems lately. The Western Hemisphere section of This Week In Doctor Who has been a particular victim of the problem - I sometimes get it in my own e-mail 2 days after I sent it out. If you find that one or more sections of the column are missing, and you get them through Yahoo Groups, you might have to read that section on the web http://groups.yahoo.com/group/thisweekindoctorwho till Yahoo Groups gets their act together. Yahoo is planning heavy maintenance on Groups on Monday - crossing fingers there. I also advise anyone who is missing portions of the column to check their spam filter. An individual section may be long enough to offend your filter, or the fact that several sections with similar names arrive at once might offend the filter. If a piece is there, just tell your filter that it is not spam.

For press releases on Doctor Who, keep an eye on the BBC Press Office http://www.bbc.co.uk/pressoffice and C21 Media http://www.c21media.net .
