      minutes)
      Sunday 25 January:
ABC Australia 7:30PM - The Next Doctor (60 minutes)

5 days till the new Doctor Who episode on BBC One - The Next Doctor!
Christmas Day at 6PM GMT. A one hour Doctor Who Confidential airs on
BBC Three at 7PM GMT, with a 10 minute look at top Doctor Who
Christmas moments at 8PM GMT. The title for the Easter Special is
expected to be revealed at the end of The Next Doctor.

There will be a full length podcast commentary for The Next Doctor.
It should be on iTunes like the Series 4 commentaries, on the BBC
website, and will air on BBC Radio 7 on Sunday 28 December at 6PM and
Midnight GMT (available for a week thereafter).

As for Doctor Who At The Proms, the concert recorded in July, it is
now scheduled to premiere at the same day and time on BBC One and BBC
HD - Thursday New Years Day 2009 at 1:50PM GMT. There will be repeats
on BBC HD. The broadcast version is 60 minutes. There may be an
extended version on the BBC Red Button service after the initial
      broadcast.

BBC One gets a new Doctor Who Confidential special - The Ten Doctors -
Saturday 3 January at 5:35PM. All the Doctors in just over half an
      hour.

ABC Australia will get The Next Doctor on Sunday 25 January at
7:30PM, just one month after the UK premiere. This is being counted
as fast-tracking. So far no other networks are known to be fast
tracking the episode. The closer we get to a simultaneous worldwide
experience, the better, so congratulations Austrailia!

There was a live Doctor Who: Podshock on December 7 looking back at
Series 4. It included contributors from a number of podcasts. Next
live Podshock on the 28th at 1PM EST/10AM PST/6PM GMT, with regular
      episodes also going out.

There will be a cast change at the DWO Whocast. British co-host Tony
has departed the show. Trevor remains and a new co-host will be named
soon. Michael (host of the Tin Dog Podcast) is substituting as co-
host on an interim basis. Best wishes for Tony and the changing
Whocast team as they set off in their new directions. The DWO Whocast
just released its 100th episode, joining Podshock and Radio Free
Skaro as Doctor Who pod programs to pass 100 episodes.
      Congratulations.

Canadians with broadband internet connections can go to the CBC
website http://www.cbc.ca/doctorwho and watch the full version of
Journey's End. It is expected up sometime today (December 13). The
version shown on CBC TV was edited down to 44 minutes due to the time
slot. The video will not work outside of Canada. CBC Bold continues
its Doctor Who repeats (except for this week), and begins encoring
      Series 4 in January.

      BBC Entertainment Latin America
http://latinamerica.bbcentertainment.com will air Doctor Who for the
first time starting Friday 23 January. BBC Entertainment Latin
America serves regions from Mexico through South America. Many of
these viewers have previously seen Doctor Who Series 1 through 3 on
the People and Arts network, which is still airing repeats at this
time and probably has first-run rights to Series 4.

France 4 http://www.france4.fr begins airing Series 4 this Tuesday at
8:45PM CET with a double feature of Voyage Of The Damned and Partners
In Crime (in French - the return of Donna Noble). Should be 2
episodes a week from here onwards. It is not clear if the weekday
      repeats will continue.

KBS2 South Korea http://www.kbs.co.kr has updated their Doctor Who
      page http://www.kbs.co.kr/2tv/enter/doctorwho/index.html to indicate
that they are starting Series 4. Hooray! Unfortunately, I cannot find
it on the actual schedule, and I cannot decipher enough of their
Doctor Who page to find a start date. If someone who reads Korean
could possibly explore KBS' site and find out when the new episodes
begin/air, I would be very thankful.

Lots of marathons and networks pulling out the Doctor Who Christmas
specials this week. If you have BBC America - they have made major
changes to the Christmas lineup. All three specials will still air -
but at different times and fewer showings.

There will be major changes to This Week In Doctor Who starting with
the January 3, 2009 edition. Fans of the Sarah Jane Adventures should
be very happy. Opponents of clutter should also be happy - I have a
plan which should make things easier to follow. Get the details on
December 27, and see the full effect in January. Happy New Year!

Torchwood schedule information is included in the Torchwood This Week
      column http://groups.yahoo.com/group/torchwood .

Illusion TV is a service providing science fiction On Demand
programming to cable providers (no deals with satellite companies
yet). If your digital cable service has Illusion TV, all programming
is offered for free with commercials. See the website to determine if
your provider may offer this service. Based on the paucity of
information on the episodes airing, I guess they want you to get the
service before you know what you will be seeing.
