      The Bane

The BBC has announced that this year's Christmas episode - Voyage Of
The Damned - will be 71 minutes long. The David Tennant/Kylie Minogue
installment of the show premieres at 6:50PM GMT Christmas Day on BBC
One, rerunning on BBC One in the Sign Zone (for deaf viewers) late
December 27 at 1:15AM and New Years Day at 2:15PM GMT. BBC Three
viewers get a 60 minute Doctor Who Confidential on Christmas Day at
8:30PM with several repeats, plus Voyage Of The Damned on New Years
Day at 7PM. Both BBC One and BBC Three repeat last year's Christmas
episode "The Runaway Bride" - see listings below.

TV3 in Ireland http://www.tv3.ie has its premiere of The Runaway
Bride (50 minute timeslot - there could be edits) late Thursday the
13th at 12:35AM GMT. It looks like the Doctor is taking a break after
that for an unknown number of weeks.

BBC Prime (both versions) http://www.bbcprime.com is now planning to
get Series 2 (David Tennant and Billie Piper) in February 2008. The
Christmas Invasion will air on 22 December 2007. Doctor Who
Confidential Cut Down is airing without the main episodes as filler
this month on both versions of the channel. Due to the number of
schedule variations episodes are airing at different times.

      BBC Entertainment Poland http://poland.bbcentertainment.com has
launched. Doctor Who Series 1 began on the station on 3 December.
Right now episodes are airing weeknights with weekend reruns.
First airing - 5:15PM CET on a weekday
Next - 6AM and 11AM CET the next weekday
Saturday 2:30PM CET - the week's 5 "new" episodes back to back
Sunday 12:30PM CET - the week's 5 "new" episodes back to back
It is unknown how many episodes BBC Entertainment Poland has
purchased. Series 1 and 2 previously aired on TVP1 in Poland. TV
viewers with BBC Prime in Poland can expect to lose the channel by
the end of the month if not already. BBC Entertainment (with BBC
Learning, BBC Knowledge, another one, and CBeebies) are supposed to
slowly launch customized versions of themselves in BBC Prime
territories to replace the old format.

The previous BBC Entertainment will be called BBC Entertainment Asia
http://asia.bbcentertainment.com in this column from now on, as it
      remains a regional station.

BBC America http://www.bbcamerica.com is getting Doctor Who Series 3
starting Saturday 26 January at 7PM EST/4PM PST. It will be paired
with Series 2 of Torchwood (Saturdays at 9PM and Midnight EST/6 and
9PM PST). It is unknown if BBC America is counting The Runaway Bride
as part of Series 3. If they treat it like The Christmas Invasion, it
will be heavily edited. Due to a coincidence, BBC America will be
premiering Series 3 episodes in prime time 3 to 4 weeks after the
same episodes repeat on SciFi http://www.scifi.com in the Friday 5AM
EST slot. Until then, BBC America is repeating Series 2 episodes on
Saturdays and Sundays, with The Christmas Invasion (Edited) airing
tonight at 6PM and 2AM EST, Sunday at Noon EST, and Christmas Eve at
      8 and 11PM EST.

UKTV Drama http://www.uktv.co.uk/drama plans a repeat run of all* the
Tom Baker stories in episodic format starting Wednesday 2 January at
5PM EST. They are also planning a Tom Baker episode weekend for
      sometime in January.

*There are many definitions of all, and unless someone publicly
announces a settlement in the issue over airing old Dalek stories on
TV it is hard to expect a complete run of any classic Doctor.

Torchwood schedule information is included in the Torchwood This Week
      column http://groups.yahoo.com/group/torchwood .

For press releases on Doctor Who, keep an eye on the BBC Press Office
