THIS WEEK IN DOCTOR WHO - September 14, 2001
      by Benjamin F. Elliott
      Vol 4, No 37
      http://groups.yahoo.com/group/thisweekindoctorwho/

It has been a long and painful week around the world. The terrorists who
struck at the World Trade Center and the Pentagon stunned us all - here in
America, Canada, the UK, and seemingly everywhere else. In most parts of the
world, this weekend's edition of This Week In Doctor Who is going out on the
14th, a day of Prayer and Remembrance.

One of the main reasons for television and movies is that they can offer an
escape from reality, a respite from the ongoing horror and the consequences
that will ensue. Doctor Who is certainly a good choice when you need to take
a little break from reality, before getting active again. So TWIDW is still
being published this weekend - albeit without story descriptions. Due to
fluctuating events, some of the broadcasts mentioned here may well be
postponed or canceled, but some will air.

If you live in an area without Doctor Who on television, you might want to
curl up with one of the novels, or see on of the videos or DVDs. (Spearhead
From Space came out on DVD in Australia on the 10th, Five Doctors, Robots Of
Death, and Spearhead From Space came out on DVD in the US & Canada on the
11th.) You might even want to unwind with something other than Doctor Who.
But save out a little time this weekend to relax and recharge yourself. We
      all need the break.
