      THIS WEEK IN DOCTOR WHO
      April 19, 2006 - Vol 9, No 16
The weekly guide to Doctor Who broadcasts worldwide.

      Thursday 20 April:
BBC One 5PM BST "Totally Doctor Who" ep 2
People + Arts (Spain/Portugal) 10:30PM CET - Aliens Of London
      (repeat)
      Friday 21 April:
BBC Three 9PM BST - New Earth (repeat)
SciFi US 9PM EDT/PDT - The Long Game
      Saturday 22 April:
CBBC 6:30PM BST "Totally Doctor Who" ep 2
BBC One 7:15PM BST - Tooth And Claw
      BBC Three 8PM & 3:25AM BST - Fear Factor
      Sunday 23 April:
BBC Three 7:15PM BST - Tooth And Claw (repeat)
ATV World (Hong Kong) 11:35PM - The Doctor Dances
      Monday 24 April:
CBBC 1PM BST "Totally Doctor Who" ep 2

"New Earth" averaged 8 million viewers in the overnight ratings on
BBC One http://www.bbc.co.uk/bbcone on 15 March, the best overnight
rating for any show on British TV that day by at least 1 million
viewers. Based on last year, the final numbers for the episode will
appear a few hours after next week's edition of TWIDW goes out. If
you missed the premiere on BBC One or the Sunday BBC Three
http://www.bbc.co.uk/bbcthree repeat, the episode airs one more
time - Friday at 9PM BST on BBC Three. Sundays at 7:15PM (with
commentary track available) and Fridays at 9PM will be the regular
      repeat times for new episodes.

As of this writing, the 2nd series premiere of Doctor Who
Confidential has not gone online. It would be a pity if the new
series of the making of show does not go online, as the episodes
will not air outside the UK.

Kids tie-in program "Totally Doctor Who" settles into its regular
time periods this week - Thursdays 5PM on BBC One, Saturdays 6:30PM
and Mondays 1PM on CBBC http://www.bbc.co.uk/cbbc . Military
servicemen serving overseas can see Totally Doctor Who Saturday
mornings on BFBS 1 at 8:30AM CET as of this weekend.

"Tooth And Claw" premieres this Saturday 22 April on BBC One with a
scheduled start time of 7:15PM, following an FA Football match
between Liverpool and Chelsea. If and only if the game runs into
extra time, there is a chance that there could be a conflict with
the start time of Doctor Who. The print edition of the Radio Times
http://www.radiotimes.com has an advisory that programmes may run
late if football goes to extra time/penalties. If the start of Tooth
And Claw is delayed for any reason, it is assumed that the
corresponding Doctor Who Confidential episode on BBC Three (Fear
Factor) will be delayed to avoid an overlap. It is currently
      scheduled to air at 8PM.

Starting this weekend, Doctor Who Confidential is only airing on
Saturday nights. This week it will have a 3:25AM late Saturday
repeat. Next week no repeat is currently scheduled.

Next week (29 April) BBC One's start time for Doctor Who shifts back
to 7PM BST for the 3rd episode of the series - School Reunion. BBC
Three's airing of Doctor Who Confidential moves to 7:45PM Saturday
      as of that night.

No premiere dates for Series 2 in other countries are known yet. ABC
Australia http://www.abc.net.au/tv apparently has the rights to air
the episodes beginning in June. Prime TV New Zealand
http://www.primetv.co.nz is waiting till midyear (it premiered in
July last year). Both of those broadcasters are expected to begin
the series with "The Christmas Invasion", which has only aired in
the UK and Canada to date. Series 2 will probably premiere at a
later date in all other countries, including Canada.

The BBC Press Office http://www.bbc.co.uk/pressoffice and C21 Media
http://www.c21media.net often announce when a Doctor Who
international sale occurs. Worth keeping an eye on, just in case.
